Noctua's "Project Redux"

But it's a prototype, isn't it?

a prototype can have some of the technology inside the molding. i would imagine only the first prototype (from what i've personally done) would be the barebones only, to make sure the base design works. then you'd refine and add in proprietary technology. then refine again to correct differences in size.

i'm not saying i know anything, but i seriously would frown at a company bringing such an early prototype to a tradeshow.

"Unfortunately some news about our Computex booth and showcases are quite misleading.
Currently we have no plans to release a black version of our latest products.
The black fans we had on show were industrial versions of the NF-F12 and NF-A14 series, which will have much higher speeds than the retail products (2000+rpm)."

"we will also have the redux series later this year, which will bring different colored versions of popular fans which are no longer the top model but in return they will be a bit cheaper as well.
While they won't be black, they will come in a color scheme that should appeal to those who don't like the usual colors."

I got this reply in an email.

Yes, but what WILL the colour scheme be?!

I hope that it's not bright yellow like their prototypes there!

In an interview the guy said those were simply mockup materials, hence the strange colour :p

i know what the color will be.

since those black ones are "industrial type" fans so for a consumer grade fan would have to be pink

kidding aside, i'm guessing it will still be the same noctua brown.
