Device that lets you liste to 2 sources at the same time?

BlinxBear

Hey.
I was wondering if  anyone knows of a device that has 2 or more inputs so you can listen to more than one source at the time.
Ex. you have 2 PCs and you use skype or something on one and you play your music from the other one.
I know you can do that with a mixing board but they are so expensive, so just wondering if anyone know of a device that you can do this with that does not cost a fortune.

Thanks for all answers in advance :D

still seems like a couple diodes and an audio grade potenti-ometer would be a lot cheaper, and still do the trick

If you don't mind one PC relying on the other:

You could have 1 PC plugged directly into your speakers(or output in general) and the other could plug into the line in of the "main" PC. Windows has has a feature called "Listen to this device", and it allows you to play audio through your computer(Mac OS has a 3rd party program that is really good). You can adjust the volume with the "Mixer" menu in Windows(or that program for mac). The only problem is that if your "main" machine is off, you get no audio at all. A 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable would be the only physical thing needed(not expensive at all).

Was gonna say this. Only limiting factor is the quality of your inputs/outputs and whether or not you get a ground loop, but hey, it's practically free so there's no harm in trying it out.
