I need help putting together a $450 build for $450 USD not including the GPU. I am planning a build for my girlfriend for Christmas and need a bit of help. The build will be for a mix of gaming and school work. I already have a GPU (MSI 7770). I need the PC, and a mouse / keyboard in the budget. I was looking at the CM Storm Devastator with Blue Backlight for Mouse/Keyboard as she loves the color blue. I was hoping to do a blue themed build but that isn't super important.

I own the RAM, The black & Red version of the case, and the PSU, they are all very nice, though the case lacks cable management grommets, but thats not a huge deal, not to mention fingerprints show up easily.

BTW are you ever gonna OC the G3258 if your gonna buy it? Kinda seem pointless to buy one if you're not gonna buy it and OC, rather get a i3 4130 instead.

You're really gonna slap a 7770 in there?

Yeah. I just have it lying around. A friend recently upgraded from that to a 770 and had me do the upgrade. And for that he gave me the 7770.

You could probably push a decent overclock with this setup on the stock cooler, like right now I've got my i5 4690K OC'd to 3.9GHz with the stock cooler, I have not seen the temps go above 50c or so when gaming, though my room typically is quite cold. (Currently no dedicated gpu so I use the integrated graphics, meaning more stress on the cpu when gaming)

If you're going to overclock/upgrade later go the G3258 route that several people posted.

btw: why the hell are people suggesting $70 cases in a $450 budget build?

It leaves space for future upgrading.
