But after playing metro im more into pneumatic guns.

I'd love to get one of these.

It would be interesting if it was actually as powerful as a real gun...

Obviously this one can't even make it though a thin notebook screen or cloth sheet.

Exactly chuck it on full auto and blast someone, looks more power than an air rifle or air soft gun (not that I have much experience with any guns at all)

Well the video was shooting pop cans and glass jars from a few meters away. Unless someone came up to your face with that gun, theres no way you can get seriously hurt by it.

 

Give it a few years, More wattage & more coils.

A paintball gun sits at 8 joules on impact.

 

This specific one is 11 joules.

 

A long way to go until we're sitting at the MP5's 520 Joules.

 

Still, it would hurt like hell.

I've got a few pneumatics. pretty fun to shoot cans off the fence with.

 

I've got a 1200FPS model (818 MPH, supersonic), .18 calibre. Could probably kill some squirrels, and hurt a guy pretty good.

I've got a few pneumatics.

I'd love to get one (Since some can be owned without a licence). I used to have a break barrel air rifle and i miss it.  :)

But the air tank ones i've found are usually monumentally expensive -_-

every coil you add means more muzzle velocity, and it's not additive, it's multiplier.

 

This model also lacks capacitors, so it doesn't have the ability to dump energy into the coils. (This would however lower the rate of fire as you must wait for the capacitors to charge as well)

 

In theory, it would be possible to build a high powered sniper out of this tech fairly soon, 16 coils W/ large capacitors, rifle the barrel, and much more voltage (this one is 50)
