Am I the only one that feels like Sony and Samsung have similar phones?

Sonefiler

First of all is the clear naming similarities. Samsung has the S and Sony has the Z.

(This also matches with how Samsung has curvy phones and Sony has sharper corners)

Sony did waterproofing first.

Sony did the whole "crazy good camera" thing first.

TouchWiz looks like Sony's skin (don't know the name)

And overall a lot of the stuff just is... similar. I don't know why. Does anyone else feel that way?

They have nothing in common, your arguments could go to every flagship comparison... LG G,2,3...
Cameras will progress as usual...

I kind of feel this way about all phones and have not had much motivation to upgrade for years outside of necessities/exceptional deals.

Completely different in every way

Unless you class every android phone as the same... the sonys and samsungs do not have much in common besides the OS they run on, and the fact they make high end large and mid range compact phones
