In England, the point isn't made clear to young people (teenagers); mostly because the people telling them don't understand the severity of it. They just basically get told to 'stay safe'

The problem with the Internet and the technology is that it is evolving quicker than the everyday people can understand. We , enthusiasts, take a few hours per week reading and learning to keep up to.

 

look at our smartphones. they have the spec of a PC in your hand, and it is just evolving, larger screens with higher res, better processors, quicker net access...

I actually use Snapchat. I think it is a lot of fun tbh.

All of my friends post funny stuff on it. Don't really care about the breach though. Haven't posted anything questionable on it.

Same, I only use it to show everyone what iv done over the weekend or something, if I haven't done anything bad or revealing then I have nothing to worry about.

If what I have been told it correct, this is not snapchats fault, however the users using third party clients.

The database with these Snapchat files was initially stored on viralpop.com, a website that installs malicious software on the devices that try to access the information. This website was meanwhile shutdown but thousands of users were able to download the files. Among the stolen data there is a large quantity of pornography, some that might be from teenagers between 13 and 17, which make for 50% of Snap chat users.

Child... pornography? All over the internet? 

 

At least with the fappening you won't get arrested for downloading those files.
