RM650 or RM750?

hey, i'm planning to build a new computer next month and i'm still nog sure about what PSU to chose, I wan't one that has some room for upgradebility in the future and has a high enough wattage so it can handle me OC'íng the CPU and GPU, but i'm not shure if a 750W powersupply is just overkill for my build (specs below). so my question is should i choose the Corsair RM650 or RM750?

Specs:

CPU: Intel core i5 4690K

GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4g

RAM: 2X4 Kingston Hyper X Fury 1600mHz

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5

CPU cooler: Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Slim

Case: Coolermaster CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced

HDD: Western Digital Black WD1003FZEX

Optical Drive: Samsung sh224DB

You are right , BUT:

RM series PSUs have this feature where they don't turn on their fan unless past some % of load , if you get the RM750 , you'll have a more silent build than with the RM650 , which will probably engage the fan alot more often. In this case i would go with a even larger PSU so you get complete silence and chance to go SLI

honestly if you got the room for it and the budget. Go for the 750watts it stays longer in no fan operation , and gives you headroom for SLi

Yes , i would even go 850w , especially since PSU fans and HDD tend to be the loudest parts in the PC . If you get a SSD in the future and set the HDD to turn on only when you use it ( windows advanced power options ) , you'll have a PC that doesn't make a sound  . If you want it to not make a sound even at medium load get the Asus strix 970 because that has the same feature like the PSU , it doesn't turn on unless you get high loads

I hear some people hated the Corsair RM PSUs... Why is that?

There is a thing about power supply people didn't talked yet, PSUs have efficiency curve and most PSUs have their highest efficiency point about 50% LOAD so by getting a bit higher watts PSU you put your watts usage to a higher efficiency ratio.

When I go on internet (Facebook/YouTube) my rig usage is so low that it doesn't matter that much but when I game or encode, I get 94% PSU efficiency.

If you can get the EVGA G2 as mentioned above, it is far better than the RM.

EVGA SuperNOVA G2, far superior than the RM series at the same price.

i'll look into it, but one of the main reasons i'm going for rhe RM series is because of the Zero RPM Mode, i'm trying to keep my build from sounding like an aircraft taking off like the build I currently use

The 750 G2 has that feature as well, and the fan kicks at higher loads in which is a plus. Besides the G2 is temp based, not load unlike the RM. Quickly checked the prices, the RM 650 is just 95 eur and the evga 750 G2 is 100 eur which comes a 10 year warranty (requires registration on the website).
