So I am building a compiter I i wanted a i7 4790k

But now I'm thinking of a i5 it Mostly for gaming but I would to do some video work and I just want it to be fast is an i7 really worth it?

Since your pc will be used mostly for gaming, an i5 (4690k) will excel.

An i5 is usable for video work, even if it's not the fastest. I takes pretty intense stuff to justify an i7.

Can you spend more money? If yes then it is worth it if you want it too be faster in video editing

The extra money from the i7 will help you doing video editing for sure. But again, an i5 4690K should be good enough

i5 is best bang for the buck.

On i7 u only get hyper threading and maybe some added features but useless in gaming.
