Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 970 HerculeZ X4 Air Boss Ultra

H4X3R

The gtx 970 g1 gaming is very overpriced in Austria atm (we JUST got new stock today).

I found the inno3d ichill gtx 970 with all kinda of fans and looks and AWESOMENESS for "just" 30 euros more.

I REALLY want a computer to use (currently using a macbook pro) AND GAME ON.

I have all the parts i want in the cart (for like a week now) and i am just waiting for the availibility of gtx 970s.

Oh, the ichill herculez x4 is 410 euros and the g1 gaming is 380 euros (that is $440 and $490 - ish respectively... TAX of 20% btw)

The 4th fans looks loud, but i am sure i can switch it off (or just pull the plug from the pcb). What do you think?

Apparently this is the best 970 ;)

I would save the 30 euros and put that towards something more productive. Even the G1 is already overkill for the Maxwell GPU in the 970

I want it cool n quiet n good overclocking. Only the gigabyte g1 offers that (and the ichill inno3d).

I really do want a computer now....DAMN IT"S AN ADDICTION!

I'll probably wait it out though, i even wrote my fav etailer if they could lower the prices xD)

Both will be just as good, you won't notice that much of a difference. Maybe list your build and we can determine where and if that 30 euros you save could be put towards

Why is that?

I have great experience with both these e tailer. Alternate and basically all the rest have crappy ratings on geizhals and i'd rather stick to what i know is good (unless i have no choice (eg they dont have what i want)). I also buy from amazon.de. Usually the prices of mylemon are very good, but because they just got a shipment of new 970s they put their price very high, it usually goes down (happened with the 280X).

I am already at my budget limit. I assumed that the g1 970 would be 350 euros.

For just gaming you don't need Haswell-E

Why.... for pretty much every game you won't notice any improvement over a 4790K. The only games that use 6 cores are Battlefield 3/4 and Crysis 3, but even then a 4790K is still more then enough. Haswell-E only a big benefit if you also do other things like video editing or rendering.

That cooler.. Oh my god it's hideous. I'd personally get the G1 card.

Specs are on my profile page

That's $270 more going from Z97 4790K to X99 5820K. I have no idea why you're saying it's only ten bucks more when it's 27 times that.

Just a note on the GPUs here,

G1=custom PCB with better OCing potential

Inno3d=Stock PCB with a fat pointless cooler on it.

Have had 2 Inno3D 780 cards, their OC value was way below the custom PCB cards of event he non extreme units.

Well, just because a card is reference PCB doesn't mean it won't OC well (put a waterblock on it and then you'll notice the difference), but out of the box, a non-reference PCB will be a much better overclocker. Good point nonetheless.
