So I have a few different questions but first look down in my signature to see what I'm upgrading from. Also I will not be upgrading the GPU immediately. Now time for questions:

1. Processor: i5-4690k or FX-8320?

2. GPU: R9 285, R9 280, or GTX 770?

3. Motherboard (only applicable if Intel build): MSI Gaming 7 or MSI Gaming 5?

I'm trying to keep this system as cheap as possible while still maintaining better performance than my current build. I will be Recording/Uploading videos and playing a ton of games on this thing.

(Yes I know that the GTX 970 is out but its a little above what i want to pay for a GPU right now.)

1) 4690k

2) GTX 970 (unless you cant afford it, what's your budget?)

3) look at the feature list and decide if the 7 is worth your extra money

As for the processor, from your options I would go with the I5, Although there are many better i7 Processors which will help with recording.

For your graphics card once again from your options I would go with the 770 but for a budget build the 780 wont do much harm.

For the motherboard get the gaming 7.

Im looking at the 200-300 dollar price range on the graphics card and I have and its really just a few extra SATA Ports that I would get, I could use them but probably won't I'll be building in an NZXT H440.

EDIT: I'm not sure that there is an unlocked i7 for the LGA1150 socket that is sub-$240.

For Capturing...This can play a part in your decision.

If you like tinkering around WITHOUT GETTING PISSED OFF when it doesn't work cos it's BETA...

Then Performanice of the R9 290 +>Beta Capturing AMD Game DVR Program (Raptr)

^I know it works, I use it, but it records in VFR and program DOES have random ass Beta issues.

Easy method to capture.

Or the GTX 770 + Shadowplay

^Works a treat, simple to use and records in CFR

Or use the CPU to record like most people, take a performance hit and choose what you think is best anyway.

CFR - Constant Frame rates

VFR - Variable Frame rates

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
