Eight Months ago Facebook announced a deal to buy WhatsApp, that deal has been approved by the government and made official. The deal was originally $19 billion but has since increased to $21.8 billion due to the the value of Facebook's stock increasing. The founder of WhatsApp Jan Koum will join Facebook's board and will be paid $1 per year like Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook will keep WhatsApp as it is for now and treat it the same way as Oculus.
