Within the Google community, I understand that for the most part Samsung's TouchWiz Android skin is looked down upon. But with the Note 4 coming out extremely soon, I'm not sure if I can help passing out on such an amazing device. If you have or have had a Samsung device loaded with TouchWiz, is it really as laggy as everyone makes it out to be? I'm fine with a few stutters here and there since most OS's have them at one point, but from a real-world point of view, does TouchWiz ruin the Android experience?

Depends on the device...

It's good on the higher end, not that great on the lower end...

Is one of the heaviest skins for android so for lower end devices I wouldn't recommend it. But at the end of the day is all about personal preference.

The Note 4 is pretty much as high end as it gets for Samsung, so will it run smoothly?

Most likely... There might be stuttering here and there though... But that can easily be corrected using some apps that remove stuff running in the background...

I don't think it would lag on Note 4. It doesn't lag on my Note 3 except in the gallery. For some reason Samsung's gallery app is insanely bad. You can throw an I7 there and it would still lag.

Change the gallery and the launcher and you'll realize how fast the phone really is.

In my perspective (which is not much) Its the most crappest, bad optimized software I have ever witnessed on the major brands. stutters, lags and lol the crapware you get.

but I do notice that the Note-serries are almost lag and stutter-free, almost.

the stuttering is cause from the dvfs ,with just a small module you can disable it

i only own samsung devices (samsung galaxy ace ,sgs2,note 3 Neo) at sgs2 and note 3 neo it runs as smooth as it gets

I see... I never had the pleasure of owning anything beyond a Galaxy Young, but I did get to try the higher end stuff in the shops... The stuttering is something I immediately noticed...

a bit off topic but am i the only one who feels like the samples are way slower than the original in the shops? (not only for sammy but for everything)

i have seen a lot of quad cores lagging for no reason at the launcher

Might have something to do with the people trying them... Idk... To give the phones a fair chance I usually clear out all the background processes...

Really? I've always liked Sense. It's my favorite OEM ROM. Guess everybody has a different opinion...

True, I just dislike the tiny things, like vertical scrolling on sense, but I guess this is why I went for the LG skin over both

i had a Note 2, it was fine with Android 4.2.2, but when it got the 4.3 update it bogged down, and even worse in 4.4 (i think Samsung thought because it runs better they could make it heavier)
