Im using func ms3 r2 mouse on 80-400 dpi for precicion work.

The mouse sometimes go slower or faster or randomly jumps around at random and i need to know if my mouse is broken or if the sensor is just bad and i need to get a different mouse?

Specificly noticeable if i use the mouse in the bios, the mouse pointer goes in a zigzag line and jumps around much more as if there was hair in the sensor but there isnt.

if its broken ill have it replaced but if the sensor is just bad ill need you to name a lot of different mouses with good sensors.

If it is an optical mouse, it may be the surface you are using. Some optical sensors need a solid color or they will be jumpy, as the different colors or textures may cause it to read the surface differently. Try different USB ports or cleaning the sensor and surface.  If none of this works, you may need to RMA it.

Im using this mousepad http://www.gathering.org/tg13/files/content/news/id107/artikkelbilde_thumb_840.jpg

Its got like a cloth surface. idk if that matters. but even it having different colors disturbs it? i guess ill look for a diff mousepad or something first

The surface and sensor looks 100% fine to me and i tried it in a different usb port.

The different colors MAY be a problem. And it is only so on Optical sensors. Try out different surfaces, or even a piece of printer paper (just don't make it your new mousepad)

Looks like it uses an ADNS-9500 (laser) sensor. From OCN:

It should be noted that laser sensors are far more finicky and depend on more uniform or rigid surfaces to perform optimally than optical sensors, which is why they perform well on some surfaces and suboptimally on others. Generally speaking for these sensors, tracking on cloth pads is considered poorer while hard pads are considered more optimal, though this is not universally true (many factors can play a role such as a mousepads surface/textural uniformity, rigidity and top layer construction, as well as a mouse's sensor and lens implementation, firmware, and build quality). For example, the G9x's malfunction rate is significantly lowered, along with occasional acceleration and jitter problems when on a number of cloth pads which is why hard pads are usually suggested for this mouse and other mice with the ADNS-9500 sensor.

On a side note, that's a pretty sweet looking mouse, I hadn't heard of it before.

i highly doubt that considering most mousepads aren't a single color at all

I did some testing with a completely new mousepad of the same cloth type - where i spin the mouse around in the same spot for a while and the mouse cursor ends up at my left monitor 90% of the time and right monitor 10% of the time. it never seems to go upwards or downwards much.

It seems that whenever the mouse feels like it drags to the left, its actualy just not registrering my movements to the right. ending up further and further to the left.

ts not the way im holding the mouse either as i tried pressing/holding the mouse down with just a finger on all 4 sides of it.

I will upload a video of the spinning thing when i get the time

I would recommend some hard surface mousepad for laser mouse. For example this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826995047&cm_re=steelseries_4hd-_-26-995-047-_-Product

I bought that mousepad just now thanks. i need a hard mousepad anyway even tho i doubt thats the problem im having right now

Thats a rather low dpi for that sensor. I would try different surfaces and see if it still does it.

Also that's a laser sensor and I thought the r2 had a updated one.

^Video of me testing the mouse. it obviously slides off to the side for some reason

looks liek yo uhave mouse trails on to me and I guess with that test I really cant tell anything. Have you tested it yet on a different surface to see if it will produce that same result?

In this video it looks like some process takes too much CPU power. Try to scan your PC with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and adwCleaner.

I did a bunch of scans with

adwcleaner

malwarebytes

avg

glary utilities cleanup

spybot s&d

hitman pro

none of them found anything useful.

Either way i got my money back without even having to return the mouse so ill be looking at different mice to see if i can find anything useful.

Atm looking at : https://www.komplett.no/logitech-g502-proteus-core/810392

Know if this mouse have a good sensor?
