video streaming build/media pc for a computer illiterate

I have a client that has a laptop. The problem is he installs and clicks on everything he sees even when I tell him not to, he also keeps breaking all the ports on his laptop he is having all sorts of hardware sound issues because of work arounds for broken ports.

 

What I was thinking is building a media PC/NUC for him to plug into his TV with a linux distro so he can't mess anything up, the capability of the whole internet and he won't be able to break any ports with a wireless mouse/keyboard combo.

 

I was pointing towards a NUC because I can just gut his laptop and stick everything into it and be good to go.

I like your idea very much.... I recommend you buying this wireless keyboard that has a built in touchpad which i have and use on my Media computer :)
