Windows new name

We already have a Windows 1. We don't need Windows One. Windows is too confusing, because there are plenty of those. I'd go with either Windows 9 or Windows IX.

 

If they name it Windows One, I will punch Microsoft in the face. The entire company.

 

To be fair Windows 1 was more of a GUI add on for MS-DOS, A poorly implemented one at that.

Think about it like the X Server for Linux. You don't people saying they're running X Server. They say they're running Linux.

Combine that with the fact that the first versions rarely use the revision number when referencing to the product.

 

I don't think it would cause that much confusion. Especially if they write One Alphabetically instead of numerically.

 

Also please film you punching the entirety of MS in the face. It will bring me great pleasure :-D

Windows I, not the Roman numeral 1 but a capital i.

 

We had Windows Me so now Windows I, its you as in integrated with you, that's how good it is or actually how much it requires of you to keep it going or that it will represent who you are since its so backdoored the powers that be will know everything you do, well more of it. :huh:

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

no, that's sound almost like iWindows, that name would be a pr mess for both apple and MS and people will bitch about more that 8 and vista combined even if it ends being the greatest piece of software know to mankind...

I doubt they want to get the "One" stink all over the flagship product.  But I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
