Their all capable due to the nature of the beast.

Maxwell is a cool architecture and isn't power hungry.

Anything will be fine, but the answer to your question is... ANY Aftermarket one is cooler than Reference

All will suffice in great overclocks. Reference will be cheaper, but not by enough to warrant not getting Aftermarket ones.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Gigabyte G1 is the best. I got it and it run 60C after an hour of valley on extreme HD with 50% fan speed @ 1370Mhz <3

ask yourself, do you plan to Watercool it?

if not than any  of the brands will be okay, I had good luck personally with EVGA and gigabyte.

not saying others are bad, but i just used those and had no DOA problems

FTW is short for For The Win edition. each card varies from brand to brand and has different clock speeds and what not.

if you want the best, just look up the core clocks and compare it, which ever is higher would mean that is slightly VERY SLIGHTLY better than the other, but it is overall only a 5% or less in performance.

so to answer your question, there is no wrong or right in this department, they all will generally perform the same in most cases.

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 is probably the best, however, if you're thinking about customer service then I'd go EVGA. ;)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

I prefer Asus' designs, mostly because of the looks and because I trust Asus, but the other ones are also great, especially Gigabyte's G1 line of GPU's. It's up to you though... But I dont really recommend the ACX(Even though EVGA's designs are still great), because you'll get more benefits from buying other cards, like better PCB's, better Looks, I mean, come on, and longer lifespans, as well as GPU's that are binned for better overclocking, if that's what you're into. Again, all up to you though

And, EVGA has a GREAT customer service, really, it's outstanding

Gigabyte is the best for temps and overclocks

EVGA has great costumer support

Asus has a very quiet cooler

MSI is just great (cooling and costumer support)

I would get the Gigabyte G1 Gaming card since I have it and it overclocks like a beast  :)

They are much the same. The posts above have given you pretty much the difference between the different manufacturers.
Additionally though, make sure that you buy a card with a good backplate and overall good rigidity. The non reference cards tend to be bigger and slightly heavier which can cause bad sagging if they aren't rigid.
