Phone internal memory discussion

makaronidi

In the last WAN-show, Linus seemed very surprised, that the iphone 6 still produces 16gb models.

So here is the question: what is the smallest amount of memory (gb), that you need on your phone?

I have a 4gb Sony Xperia L and I am Totally fine with it, i just have to use CleanMaster every day.

I have an 8GB nexus 4, and I hate it, I can't put any music on my phone. I have to stream it all.

I think 32GB is minimum but that's just me.

The way you added "I just have to use CleanMaster every day." makes it sound like you're not totally fine with it.

16GB is the lowest i would go.

32 gb should be minimum IMO, especially if you have a high res camera built in

I'm not sure what my nokia lumia W8 phone is, but I know this, unlike the Iphone, I can put in a micro SD card to expand it.

that being said, I've never filled it up, or even come close to my knowledge, but then again I'm not a power user.

Yes android phones may allow for SD cards to be added for extra storage, but they really should include much larger storages within the phone such as 32GB or more.

16Gb I guess, the smallest amount of memory on a smartphone I had was 8gb on a Xperia U and I managed. The only thing I hated was that I had to backup my photos on my PC and delete them from the phone to keep memory. I had a 32Gb N900 and now I have a 32gb Lumia 920, I end up needing 10-12gb max.

Personally I would get as much storage on my phone as i can afford. Right now I got 16GB + 8GB on my S4 mini and I need like 64GB LOL.

I'm currently running with 8GB and I'm fine with it. Sure I would like a bit more space for music but overall it hasn't really annoyed me. I will be going for the 64gig version if I'm getting an iPhone 6 though.

In this day and age NO phone above 50$ should be made without a micro sd slot. Anything that doesn't have it is almost dead to me unless it has some pretty epic pros.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Either if it has microSD slot its irrelevant, but if there isnt i have to say i would be unable to live with less than 32 gigs now. Which is around 25 gigs with OS for me but still, enough to store a buttload of music and my stuff on it.

I used up to 10 gigs on my main phone internal storage for apps, and 2 gigs on my SD card for videos, have a 32gb+16gb sd on my G3

So I can't go below 16 gigs without an SD expansion

But the demand for higher capacity is going up, alot of apps have become big, and if you are into gaming, some are at 2 gigs

Personally I think phones should come with at least 32GB of internal storage and have a Micro SD card slot.
