G3258 won't overclock !

rGhost
Hello guys! I have a problem with my new G3258, it just won't overclock. I have it on an ASUS Z97-K motherboard and I've set the core ratio to 40 (and sync all) and the voltage to 1.250 but it stucks at 3.2GHz although CPUZ shows the multipier 8-40. These are the results after 15 minutes of AIDA  test :

What's the problem ? What should I do ?

Well you said after so then the CPU idle's and doesn't go to the OC frequency (because it doesnt need to). Check the frequency DURING aida stress test

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Please remember to follow your topics! ;)

It just looks like you didn't save your settings in the bios correctly, try resetting the cpu and going through the process again, see if anything changes.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Guys I've updated to the latest BIOS today and I've finally managed to get my cpu to 4.5GHz but that with 1.35 voltage. Is it too much ? Should I try to downgrade it ? The temps are fine...

I got it to 4.5 with 1.27v, try lowering voltage.

Don't change ring ratio.

leave the voltage on auto for up to 4.5Ghz

Just adjust the multiplier
