It's that time of year again, where the best video makers across the globe lock themselves away for multiple months working on their own Magnum Opi, their Saxxy Awards entries. And this year, there are a lot of good contenders.

Valve will announce the finalists on the above linked page (click the image) on September 30th. Until then, you can vote for your favorites by upvoting them on the Steam Community pages.

Entries are divided into the following categories:

  • Best Action
  • Best Comedy
  • Best Drama
  • Best Short
  • Best Overall

There are anywhere between 4-6 entries chosen as finalists for each section. On the 30th, Valve will publish the finalists and you may then vote for them.

Here's a list of contenders:

Source Filmmaker is a video editing tool created by the game studio and Steam founder, Valve, released in 2012. Users can download SFM for free and create videos by manipulating content in the Source game engine. Every year, the most talented video makers band together or work alone on their own masterpiece projects, and submit them to the Saxxy Awards contest. This is the fourth annual Saxxy Awards, and it's shaping up to be a great one.
