Another Shiny! ^^

Yeah that'd be great, I haven't actually seen a Prodigy M with a h100i inside of it. I think that's partly the reason why I resisted getting one because I had not seen it done before and didn't want to be stuck not being able to fit it in my new shiny case haha. I look forward to the pictures!

Here you go :)

4484fba550585ed7474624353bb7de45.jpg

You can see that my original intention of putting it on the bottom is simply not feasible, because the rad is longer than just the fans, but it fits fine on top (I turned the case around so I'd be able to take this picture without the screws):

5c583d8e5ad55b61f39bd4488683edd2.jpg

I can see now that some finagling will be required to fit the GPU in between the pipes, but I am confident that I will manage  :)

Oh and one last thing, if you do tinker around with your case a lot, I'd move that side panel to the other side so the Power/reset button, LED and reset cables are not in the way all the time. You have to remove them every time you open up the case and it is a pain. If you do switch the side panels around, you can turn the power button and reset button the right way up by unscrewing them and flipping them. But if you can cope with it then you won't need to worry.

I turned the buttons around, and didn't lose a single screw! ;)

(One tried to make a run for it, but I caught it)

Damn. After looking at your pictures I kind of wished I went with the h100i. I'm perfectly happy with the h80i but now knowing that I could of gotten away with a h100i in the Prodigy M, I wish I would of delved into getting it.

I haven't tried to put a 970 in there yet, but yeah, it fits fine :)

But if you're happy with the H80i, then it's fine :)

  • 3 months later...

Everything is on hold due to increased budgetary concerns ( #povertysucketh ), but the microphone on my headset has been slowly failing for a couple of months now, and the Blue Snowball, which I intended to get for Fluffy anyway, is finally available in my country for a reasonable price, so I got a white one - I'll take a picture when the arm arrives :)

Got a second-hand Ergotron Neo-Flex quite cheap from ebay. I'll get an Arctic Cooling Z4 Pro for the rest of the monitors when I can.

  • 1 month later...

I was starting to wonder if I'd have to send a complaint to ebay because the arm for the mic is still not here (I ordered it two months ago), but to-day a registered letter came from the post office itself - turns out it is held in customs  <_<

I have to send them a copy of my ID and something to "prove the value of the objet[sic]" - I printed out the paypal invoice that ebay sent me back then; hopefully that shall suffice.

All this hassle can be yours for a mere $11.99 !!!1!!one!!

Oh also I got an ikea desk and an Arctic Cooling Z4 Pro, and I mounted four ancient monitors that I repurposed from even more ancient (broken) computers back home (well, one of them is the tv from the kitchen). Luckily they all turned out to have Vesa mounts. I'll take a picture when the mic arm is here :P

Now all I'm missing is the main monitor (a 25" 21:9 LG IPS pannel), the motherboard, the cpu, the ram, the gpu, the ssd, the hdds...

So yeah, I'm still missing most of the things...

Here you go - had to stand on the bed to get everything in focus :P

Pay no attention to the roll of paper towels on a string and the full basket - I get very fluish in cold weather  :(

The craptop only supports one external display at a time, even though it has three different display outputs (grumble grumble), so I have the most pixel-ey monitor plugged in (1680x1050); at least it has one usb 3.0 port, so I can use the hub that comes with the Z4 Pro.

Fluffy is down in the corner of the desk, still in the bag to keep off dust and sadly bereft of components

Do NOT get it from Worten!! I saw it there for 300€, when it costs only 200 at Fnac; I got it for ~184 at www.chiptec.net :)

Here is my first ever POST ^^

Hey man,

Built is coming along really nice. No GPU at the moment for the machine though?

I can't get my head over the upside down motherboard, it looks strange to me.

I feel like I should share my update prodigy M update with you as the heatsink is lol and takes up so much space. It's a NH-D15 (I'll put it as a link rather than an image dump so it doesn't take up lots of space on the page).

Anyway really nice build, looking forward to a GPU being thrown in there next to the h100i, haven't seen it yet been done.

Yeah, I, uh... ran out of budget :P

Plus I've been giving the 980Ti some serious thought, and it hasn't come out yet...

I thought I could hold on but it has been too much to live without a GPU, so I found a cheap 580 on ebay and ordered it to serve as a stopgap - should arrive soon :)

I can't get my head over the upside down motherboard, it looks strange to me.

It looks perfectly normal to me - your upside down case and GPU look weirder to me :P

That picture is amazing - it is as if every single part was custom-made to fit together - looks like not a single extra grain of sand would fit in there ;)

I'm quite looking forward to *having* a GPU myself - the pipes connecting the pump to the rad worry me a bit,

I hope I can fit a GPU in there :P
