i recently purchased another 2gb evga gtx 760, i now have 2 in sli. Im not sure whether or not its worth it to get another and 3way sli? or just hold on to 2 cards and wait another year to upgrade? i need a serious answer and not some complete first thought answer please. i play battlefied 4 in ultra settings and want to have as many fps as possible. but i also dont want to waste my money on a few extra fps.

Not wort it for a 760. If you need an upgrade you should sell the cards you have now and go for a GTX 970, I am rather certain that you could afford it.

EDIT: As for AMD you could consider the R9 290(non X).

Spoiler

Case Bitfenix Ghost, Mobo Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, CPU i7 6700K @4.2 Ghz cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer i30, (barely). GPU Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 @1519Mhz core, RAM 16Gb Crucial Ballistix CL16 @2400Mhz. SSD 128GB Sandisk Ultra Plus as my OS drive. HDD's  1TB  Seagate ST31000524AS its OEM, 3TB Seagate Barracuda, 2x 500GB WDC Blue (RAID 0)

If it isn't working absolutely perfectly, according to all your assumptions, it is broken.

While it will vary with each game over all I find 3 or more card setups not worth it.

With multicard setups each card you add the performance boost is diminished.

Two cards usually yields a good boost but the performance gains with 3 and 4 cards is often much less significant.

If you don't mind Radeon then give the r9 280x a look, as long as your CPU isn't a bottleneck it will gladly deliver great fps in bf4 ultra at 1080p. Only problem with that option is longevity as the 280x is starting to get a bit old so it won't last as long as a gtx 970/ r9 290 would. So it all comes down to what your budget is and how long you expect your upgrade to last. Don't go 3 way sli though, returns won't be anywhere near worth it. Hope this helped :-)

CPU - i5 4690K l GPU - XFX R9 280X l MoBo - ASUS Maximus vii Ranger l RAM - 8GB Vengeance Pro l PSU - Corsair CX750l HDD - Seagate Barracuda l CPU Cooler - Custom Water loop Case - Corsair Air 540 l OS - Windows 7 l Mouse - Mad C.A.T.Z RAT 3 l KeyBoard - Razer Blackwidow Chroma

Don't do triple SLI, really not worth your money (at least not with those cards).
