Swap my GTX 780

Mauro (DK)
Go to solution Solved by Sexy Vanilla Freshness,

The core count is offset by the higher efficiency of the architecture, don't worry about that number the 970 is a faster card.

I am a little unsure. I sold my GTX780 but not sent yet. and will buy a GTX970 because I want to save a little energy costs but still have brilliant graphics. I don't know nothing about CUDA but the 970 has 1664 and my old Asus 780 DCU2 OC has 2304 i it bad i lower? I play lot of FM14 and soon FM15. I love Assassin's Creed an will get Unity, i will also get GTA 5. So back to start, is a Asus GTX970 Strixs good enough. I have one Asus 24" LED VN247H

I was afraid of having done something stupid .. So all on all the GTX970 is better then a GTX780 plus use less power =)

yeah you won this gamble but make sure to do the research or ask the forum before you do something like this again, you dont want to get a worse card after all, btw the performance gap will be small but try not to expect a night and day type of experience.

It's better than the 780 in every meaningful way. That said I am not sure if upgrading from a 780 to 970 is worth it unless you sell the 780 and get 2 970s.
