God dammit guys why are new cpu's so important to you? You gain much more performance (gaming wise) with new gpu's.

Intel is unpredictable xD

that is true, but there isnt a reason to release broadwell

With AMD's new architechture coming out in 2016 there is no competition

i'm really hoping samsung goes into the  CPU market for laptops, so atleast there is some competition

well sadly it's 90% of the time true, people come on here saying they want to spend $8000 on a PC for "editing" ask them what type of editing and they say youtube lol

Yep but for them they need a enthusiast CPU and GPU to render Minecraft at 4k

The actual CPU lineup will launch in December (or so they say). Devices using the new CPU's will start launching in 2015 though.

The launch is supposedly in December but it will start shipping in early 2015. So realistically they'l be hitting the shelves in January.

This is all according to tech media reports. I don't know if Intel said anything officially.

Last article I read abut the matter: http://www.techradar.com/news/computing-components/processors/will-intel-s-skylake-cpus-render-desktop-broadwell-processors-irrelevant--1265595
