Do you have any more suggestions around the same price? (Also this monitor was announced in 2012, is there any newer version of it?)

Im going to use a GTX 980 or 970 for it, I think that is more than enough for 1080p and 144hz

Also what about the BenQ XL2420z monitor? is it better than the ASUS VG248QE?

The Benq is a lot more expensive and has a ton of unessesary features, the Asus is fine. Personally I would go with a 1440p 60hz IPS monitor than the both of them, since I can't tell the difference between 60 and 120fps. I know people like Linus can though. :/

So for the 1440p 60hz for under 250 dollars what do you suggest?

http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-Evolution-2560x1440-Overclockable-Monitor/dp/B00KYHI6M8/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1411326379&sr=8-12&keywords=2560x1440+monitor

Though not an IPS panel, it is an AH-VA panel. Which should look pretty much the same if not better as long as you are not looking at it from the sides. Plus it is overclockable so you might be able to get around 80hz (FPS)

Plus since it is 2560x1440 pixels you are getting A LOT more sharper image than 1920x1080.

Thanks man! But still I will buy the asus 144hz since I want a high refresh rate monitor(and its 50 bucks cheaper) :)
