MSI Warranty - Overclocking

Go to solution Solved by skullbringer,

In case you damaged your card due to overclocking, MSI could not prove that you were overclocing, as the overclock is stored on your computer and is only applied when the overclocking tool (msi afterburner) starts (ususally with windows) and loads the overclock. As soon as you take the card out of your system, it is completely stock.

As long as you dont modify the bios, and only use a software overclock.

Hello everyone,

lately i was looking up information whether MSI allows us to use software tools to overclock their graphics cards without voiding our warranty.

I found several different posts confirming and declining this. Does somebody have actual correct information about this is allowed or not?

Thanks in advance,

My first opinion would be that it's not under warranty if you are not using the OCgenie automatic option. If you use your own manual OC, then you lose the warranty.

the MSI product itself should come with a warranty document. if overclocking is allowed, MSI products will have an overclockers warranty included in that document.
