Thanks If you get something like a g3258, then you'll still be able to overclock. If you get something like a 4790k, then you wont really be able to overclock... If you want XFIRE graphics then you either go with a select H97 board or any Z87/Z97 board; and if you want to SLI then you must go z87/z97. Thanks No, not at all. Most motherboards don't differ in performance. So I get oc features and SLI and Xfire features in more expensive boards. How about the longevity of the board? No, not at all. Most motherboards don't differ in performance. Does it have any effect? And the longevity of the board? Overclocking a GPU gives you a minimal amount of performance. |CPU: Intel 5960X|MOBO:Rampage V Extreme|GPU:EVGA 980Ti SC 2 - Way SLI|RAM:G-Skill 32GB|CASE:900D|PSU:CorsairAX1200i|DISPLAY :Dell U2412M X3|SSD Intel 750 400GB, 2X Samsung 850 Pro| Peripherals : | MOUSE : Logitech G602 | KEYBOARD: K70 RGB (Cherry MX Brown) | NAS: Synology DS1515+ - WD RED 3TB X 5|ROUTER: AC68U Sound : | HEADPHONES: Sennheiser HD800 SPEAKERS: B&W CM9 (Front floorstanding) , B&W CM Center 2 (Centre) | AV RECEIVER : Denon 3806 | MY X99 BUILD LOG! If you don't need the features don't pay for them LGA775 Overclocking Guide - LGA771 to LGA 775 mod - Rigs in spoiler - Subzero Overclocker - HWBOT - Sandybridge-E Frequency WR Holder
 Posted September 19, 2014 Author If you don't need the features don't pay for them Yep. But I'm just really wondering about if they differ in lifespan. Thats it.
