Is Crossfire really that bad?

I want to upgrade my pc and I have a gigabyte radeon hd 7850 2gb edition and I want to put a second hd 7850 in my pc and crossfire them.

But I hear a lot of people complain about micro stuttering so I want to know if it's really that bad.

Old news, much better.

Google recent cards in crossfire and see 'test system' then results to give you an idea of how they perform and the reviewers findings on crossfire.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

AMD has fixed microsuttering a ton in their drivers the past year. You should be pretty much fine.

Make sure the game that you will be spending most of your time on have a good crossfire support/scaling.

For me it was that bad. On all drivers from 12.2 to 13.12

But i've heard others say it's perfectly fine for them.

I had micro stuttering, Driver crashes and game crashes with my HD7850s from asus 

But that might've been down to bad cards
