Brand new monitor/ white screen

Hello, yesterday was my birthday and my brother bought to me an aoc s2495sh but when i try to get it work i am only getting a white screen, i've tried with VGA and HDMI but still same problem but if i change to my old monitor aoc 1950 which has only VGA it works perfectly any tips how i could get it work?

Hmm...that's quite an odd problem you have there. Does that monitor have a DVI connection or just VGA and HDMI?

Just VGA and HDMI also can it be because of my card? i use gigabyte r9 280x

Well, I wouldn't think so. Have you tried connecting the monitor to any other computer to eliminate the display as the problem?
