Should I get a G3258?

I was planning on getting an FX8320/50 around Christmas but then decided that for £40 more i might as well get an i5 4670k. But then I started to take an interest in the G3258 and OMG are some of the figures I have seen amazing! All I really use my pc for is gaming, so is it actually worth spending x3 the money on the i5? Mostly I play Smite and FPS games. Are there any games at the moment that can really take advantage of more cores and how well will this cpu do in the future? If I get will I end up replacing it next a year down the line? Also anyone think I should take the i5 or the 8320/50? Any opinions would very welcome! :D

Do a 4690k, if you can afford it, it's wroth it with Z97. Z97 will also have support for broadwell.

Yes most games will be bottlenecked by having only 2 cores. The 4690k will be a big improvement over a 3258.

If you can afford it, get the 4690k + z97 now. Or you can get the G3258 + z97 and upgrade to a 4690k in the future.

I've got an r9 270.

get a g3258. run it flat out on a decent z97 board then sell it and get a broadwell i5 if you feel the need when they come out. :)

I have gtx 770 and g3258 in one of my rigs right now and its beast :) THen when broadwell comes out I will upgrade. You should do the same. get z97 board and g3258 because no point on spending like 200$ on a processor when the next gen comes out in a few weeks/momths

i do fancy a 2600k or 2700k to stretch my z77 out a bit longer first though. its only a year old in october and i love sandy bridge and its unrivaled overclocking ability.
