DDR4 Advice

Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

Corsair platinum? Vengeance? GSkill? 2800? 3000? 3300?

Will 2800 and 3000 or 3300 have real world performance difference?

There is no real difference between brands & speeds of RAM for a normal consumer/gamer. Just get whichever one you like the look of the best.

Hi guys

So Im building a new system with a 5960x, Asus ramp 5, samsung 850 pro and some other uber components but I cant decide about the ram.

I recommend G.skill. They are one of the BEST DDR4 rams today. and they look good too!

I recommend a CL 15 one with around 2800-3000 mhz. The higher Clock speed on CL15 the less NS (nanoseconds)

Whichever's cheapest. It's not worth buying any DDR4 right now, since the differences in speed won't be noticeable until at least Broadwell-E comes. And even then, the thing that's probably gonna get the most benefit from this high speed RAM, is integrated graphics.

Well, considering that he's going for the x99 platform, DDR4 is his only option.

Also considering that DDR3 is ridiculously expensive and DDR4 is about the same in price, I'd say DDR4 is better value than DDR3.

I've got Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 4x4 GB 2800 MHz. They run stable with XMP at 3000 MHz. The price was okay but 380 USD wasn't really cheap either ;) .

Where I am, a 16GB set is 1.5x more expensive then a set of DDR3.... so yeah
