It's been awhile since I did a browser speed test where I pick a few browsers that I think are good and run the peacekeeper test on them. I ran the test and the results were, well, shocking. I'm shocked that chrome has a score that it does.

Please note, these are less real world examples, but more of a test of the browser's speed and compatibility. Some computer systems might run one better than another.

These tests were run on this system:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium
FX 8350
GTX 760 OC
840 EVO SSD
8gb RAM

Results From lowest score to highest:

Firefox: 5th Place

Opera: 4th Place

Google Chrome: 3rd Place

Yandex: 2nd Place

And the winner, surprisingly:

Maxthon: 1st Place

I don't care about speed as much as I care about all the issues pursuing it has caused. Both chrome and firefox are broken as hell. IE STILL does not auto update and you have to support stuff outdated for years. Sure I can complain about 11, but it's not that bad if everyone was on 11. But thanks to MS, no, people are still on 8 and 9. As a web developer, as far as I'm concerned, ALL browsers are currently broken.

Maxthon - no other tabs open

Yandex - no other tabs open.

Chrome- four other tabs open.

Opera - two other tabs open.

Firefox - no other tabs open.

I didn't know how to have one chrome session open with the other closed without loosing my current tabs. As for Opera, I was on a forum addressing an issue with Opera I had in the past and apparently still have. Nothing was running in those tabs so there probably isn't going to be a difference with the results.

I stand corrected. The results were different. I am fixing that now, in the first post  ;)

What about IE?

Last time I tried IE some of the tests didn't work on it, so I don't think it should be included.

Firefox = 4854

Not sure why you'd include your score for a single browser.

Says NT, but really is 7.

Yours says the same.

NT 6.1

My laptop isn't special. Turbo speed of 4.4Ghz from overclock, sandy. Not really gonna beat your desktops.

Have you changed any firefox settings to get such a score?
