How do I remove SP120 Blades?

Ishraq

I already searched many places, how can I remove SP120 blades. I'm 14 btw and I already tried yanking them off, but I'm probably too weak -_-

Bear in mind I don't have access to crazy tools and stuff.

According to here if you take the sticker off there's piece of plastic locking the fan blades to the housing, if you remove the piece of plastic you should be able to yank it off, according to the linked source.

Do this at your own risk, we are not responsible if you break the ever living bajeebus out of your fan(s).

Wow, thanks for the quick replies, I wish to paint them. I'm doing some case modding here.

As I posted, most fans do have something behind the sticker on the frame holding them to the frame. I managed to yank apart one of my NZXT fans that way to clean it.

The sticker or the fan blades?

The thing holding the fan blades in the frame.

I wouldn't know because I don't know what it looks like on your specific fan. I would assume a small knife or tweezers but I'd prefer a picture of it before I can give you an answer I'm (more) confident with.

I'd probably take some scissors to that.

Thanks

It's usually not a good idea to paint the blades of any fan due to more weight added especially if you aren't an expert of painting.

That being said,i found a video disassembling those fans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfvwRbMqvqc Hope it helps

Painting a fan adds such little weight if you don't overdo it that it doesn't effect the performance or acoustics of the blades.

Well,if you tried it or have a first hand experience,i'll take your word for it.

people don't usually recommend painting them with heavy paints that have to be applied by brushes, you should use spray cans and try to have them cleaned before and then painting them evently to keep the noise down, also be sure that where you put the pieces back together doesn't get paint on it since some fans have only very small space between the rotor and the frame and thick paint could block the fan or cause friction

I have done it with an NZXT fan, the principle should be the same but the process can and probably will vary. I know on my fans there were no plastic covers to be removed, instead it was bare and you could see in to the bearing essentially.
