Anyone else notice something a little off about that OriginPC EVO15-S?

So i was watching the video this morning and i cold have sworn that ive seen that laptop before.

I did a little bit of looking around and found a different laptop, the MSI GS60 Ghost.

Its literally the same laptop, how does this happen?

Hmmm maybe the struck a deal with MSI to use their housing for the new laptop? Just a hunch though.

MSI are one of the company's that sells their chasis to OEM's much like Clevo they also have laptops the same as the GT series as well.

Its the same laptop except they customize that hardware in it and rebrand it.

Yup, this happens a lot. Pretty much all those companies like cyberpower, iBuyPower, Digital Storm, etc. sell rebranded MSI, Gigabyte, or Clevo.

But whats the point? Theyre trying to like compete with MSI but there selling MSI's products...

That is the point. They know they can't compete with a company as big as MSI simply because they don't have the R&D budget to fully design a new laptop every year. It's cheaper for them to just buy the completed design from MSI and manufacture that.

MSI knows that they might have a slightly different consumer base than Origin, so overall they'll get more total profit if they let smaller boutique sellers like Origin build and sell the chassis while paying MSI a small licensing fee.
