I watch Linustechtips for a while now it's fun, but i dont understand everything that's normal i suppose. So, i am asking it here; I dont have a large budget for a graphics card something around €250,- , currently in my self-build Pc is a GTX 750Ti (pretty decent card, with my experience; running games like BF4 on high/ultra at 50fps so good for a mid-range graphics card). should i get another GTX 750Ti or should i buy another card like a GTX 760 or 770? and another question is SLI easy enough to configure as i am not so experienced in it?

My System;

  • CPU
    Intel i7-4770k
  • Motherboard
    Asus H87 Plus
  • RAM
    1600mhz Kingston HyperX Blu 2x4GB
  • GPU
    Nvidia GTX 750 Ti
  • Case
    Cooler Master (something  :)
  • Storage
    1TB Western Digital + 120GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO
  • PSU
    CoolerMaster B600 600W

get a 760//770 you can drop down to a 4690k for gaming. change your psu to CX600m well doing that upgrade to a z97 board.

edit. well leave everything for now if you built it already.

Here's the 1000000$ question: why do you want to upgrade after not even one year? If you wanted more power, you should have thought about it when you got the pc and maybe have gone for an i5 instead of an i7 in favour of getting a better gpu. The golden rule is, keep a gpu for at least 3 years unless it breaks or your needs suddenly change drastically.

My opinion is to keep what you have. Upgrading would be a waste of a perfectly good card and the 750ti doesn't support sli afaik.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Don't ditch the 4770k. If you already have it there is no point in dropping down to I5. As for the upgrade I suggest you do not (wait until 800/900 series) upgrade.

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Just wait another month. New stuff is comin out. Keep the 4770k, you will be happy you did later on as well.

Yeah you're true i dont even have the card for a year.. There is no point of getting a new one at the moment. I won't ditch the 4770k because i already have it and will regret it later! Thanks for the fast response though!

As you have already realized, just stick with the 750ti for a while. Take the budget €250 you mentioned and save up for a higher end card in the future. Like some have mentioned, there will be some new cards coming out in the next few months. So keep an eye out for them and on the prices of the current cards in the market as they are bound to change at some point with the release of newer gen hardware.

If you are looking for a little more performance, you could try overclocking the 750ti. I have the Gigabyte version and was able to get another 200Mhz out of the core clock. Good for a few more fps at least.

I could do, but when my card is idle it is 38 °C or 100 °and when gaming it is double that. anyway i think it will be fine

Edit: I own the Asus version
