Les Goldsmith, the CEO of ESD America, used ESD's CryptoPhone 500 to detect 17 bogus cellphone towers. ESD is a leading American defense and law enforcement technology provider based in Las Vegas.

Something is off with this.

It was 17 towers detected in July. The map was updated in August. It also seems like there are multiple people working on this so perhaps not all the towers have been posted. The general consensus is that there are far more towers out there.

There is almost no doubt about that. There are a limited number of people who own the $3500 phone that can detect them and they have already found 17+. I suspect there are many more interceptors out there.
