Lowest Possible Spec PC? Challenge Accepted!

Combatman12

Yes, you're right. How much did it cost again? Oh yeah, $20,000.

Furthermore the computer as we see it today was invented with the introduction of the Macintosh. The Altair doesn't count unless you can read blinky blinky red LEDs. I know I can't.

Both of those examples were nowhere as compact or as easy to use as the Macintosh either. I would know, I collect old PCs.

Utter BS. You have picked completely arbitrary criteria. The digital computer was invented long before Jobs was born. Just because it didn't have a fancy gui interface did not make it something other than a computer.

Of course Altair counts as the first personal computer. It was the very first digital computer that could be bought and used by an average consumer.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Whatever man. I'm not staring at a row of blinky LEDs. You might be, I moved past that awhile ago. Pretty sure everyone else did too. There are not many people that would consider the Altair to define the PC as it stands today.
