Posted September 2, 2014 My Astro a40 headset broke, and I need a new one. I'm not sure what set of headphones to get, or if I should just get another a40 headset. I need a mic as well if it's not apart of the headset, any advice would be nice and under 200< would be better. Posted September 2, 2014 I 2nd the modmic. I don't really like the desktop mics because they pick up too much background noise. The modmic is very easy to set up and use. Do you think you'll like the 700s? I've seen really mixed reviews about them. I was going to try them at echo hifi near my house, but I only had time to try a few so it didn't make the list. Posted September 3, 2014 Voice activation: Stick with headset or a headphone with "proper" conversion kit, like Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro. Modmic is in weird place in between headset and desktop for voice activation. Push-to-talk: Desktop mic.
