anything better than the G3258 for under a hundred dollars...?

overclockable or not. anything in the 120 dollar or less area that is better than the g3258?

In multi-cored applications, the FX 6300/8320 (on sale) would be your best bet.

 

For pure gaming, I would still say the FX, but the G3258 is pretty good in games.

not like ive been on 12 other forums and asking a sh*ton of questions already and emptied my resivior of good titles.  *sarcastic whistle*

 

In multi-cored applications, the FX 6300/8320 (on sale) would be your best bet.

 

For pure gaming, I would still say the FX, but the G3258 is pretty good in games.

well i already knew it was, but id rather not have 2 cores. no matter how fast they are. until two core proccessors get to be stock at 4.7 i aint touching them unless i have that extra 20-50 dollars, or its the only option.

because reasons.

(main one being gf refuses to use an intel unless its an i7. )

Higher memory speeds aren't as beneficial as people think, unless you have an APU. With one stick, you'll still have room for future upgrades (if RAM slots are an issue).

EDIT: Holy balls, that price increase on those sticks :o
