1. Budget and Location

I'm from Malaysia. My budget is preferably below RM1000 per computer. My school have at minimum, 20 computers in one room.

2. Aim

Microsoft Office softwares, web browsing, able to run Java and Flash applications smoothly.

3. Monitors

Only 1.

4. Peripherals

500GB HDD, speakers/headphone, 4GB RAM, Windows 7

5. Why are you upgrading?

The computers at my school are from 2008/09. If I recall right, they run on Intel Celeron processors, less than 1GB of DDR/DDR2 RAM (Not sure which one). Most of them don't work because they have not been in use for years. As for the computers that do work, they run very slowly.

What is RM1000 in USD? Also, do you want the HDD, speakers/headphones, and OS included?

$317

Are you upgrading the Monitors also or just the towers themselves?

Doing what you want in that target would be very difficult.

they probably have to be pre-builts for a school. Mos school wont pay for parted out rigs.

"Most schools."

If I told my school I could build them better for the same price, they would probably flip shit (and a table) and reel me in to start building my ass off.

No they won't. Pre-built computers are the better option for a business, especially a school which would require a lot of computers.

Yes, they possibly would. But do you really want to be the guy building 20 minimal spec computers for free? The reason building our own computers is cheaper than pre-built systems a lot of the time is because we don't pay for labor. You factor in the time it would cost the school to pay him to build these and then the school is paying more for parted out machines rather than pre-builts.

True enough, I enjoyed volunteering doing the same thing. But I don't know if OP does. Also schools usually buy in bulk which pre-builts often give pretty good discounts for. I don't know. I'm not in the business sector. Grats on 14k posts btw.

Need to come up with a non-branded spec sheet for gov't bidding papers...

Budget and purpose is around the same... ~350 USD per unit for an order of around 20 units...
