For APS-C Nikons, the first lens I tell everyone to get is the Nikon AFS 35mm 1.8g.

Question. Is it a d90/d80/d200/d300/d7000/d7100? Those are the only APS-C cameras that will have a body focusing motor.

Forget the Samyang because its has no AF.

If your camera doesn't have a focusing motor, forget the Nikon 24 2.8 again no AF

the Sigma is quite an old design back when Sigma's were considered a last option resort.

D7100, but it's going to be a video lens mostly so auto focus isn't that important to me, I am acutely leaning to the samyang because you can change aperture manually

what do you think?

They're not really wide angle, except maybe for the 24mm f/2.8.

Those 30mm - 35mm you have listed are more like 50mm on the crop sensor. If it's wide angle you want, look at the pancake lenses.

These are wide angle lenses I just won't get wide angle shots with them. I was aware of that, thanks anyway :).

I consider  anything around 35 or wider fairly wide, I know the equivalent is around 50mm I was searching for that.

Also pancake lenses aren't usually wide, more in the range of 40-50mm aren't they?
