Does anyone know the clock speed and specs of the new Intel processors. For both 6 cores and 8 core processor. With them being released tomorrow I haven't heard anything about it.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Do not link wccftech. Everyone here hates it and they'll take something they heard someone whispering and post about it, with literally no cites.

That is broadwell. OP wants Haswell-E specs

My apologies. Try this.

lol how hard is it to link a picture??

intel_i7-5960x_5930k_5820k_sp.jpg

Apparently pretty hard thanks that was what I was looking for still seems like a little let down for the 8 core at 3.0 get after their recent flagship at 4.0 ghz

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

well it kinda make sense imo.

adding more cores and keeping the temps low and speed high is abit of a tough cookie. i doubt Skylake will even be 3.5 /8 core

That's also why amd processors are double the temp of Intel. Still they will be nice for a mini itx build.

tasks that require an 8c/16t cpu generally dont need great single core performance anyway and 8cores at 3ghz is way better than 4 at 4ghz or even 5ghz for that matter

Its important to note that the current AMD 8 core is not an 8 core in the same way that the Intel 8 core it.

The AMD each core shares a cache with another core, with intel each core has its own cache.

There are tons of other architectural differences but that is the biggy.

Guys, even with out any charts, it's not like clock speeds from Intel really changed much over the years for a flagship. Unlike AMD who attaches a nuclear reactor to release an impractical 5ghz chip, typical Intel chips for the high tier processors are usually 3.3-3.4ghz

anytime. also, big chance this will go to 4.0 with a good cooler

Well at least the jigahertz are on the rise again. I've been sitting on the same 2GHz quadcore for 5 years being unable to justify upgrading. With that being said, I'm really going to have to start thinking more about visualization and how I'd use 6-8 cores in a way that's worth while.

Wonder what it would go to in my custom desk when I build it. It'll have a 6x140 rad for the exhaust.
