So usually im quite good with PC's and stuff like this but my friend has 2 titans and currently running 2 120Hz BenQ monitors but wants to updrade to 2 4k monitors. As i know that to run 4K monitors at 60Hz you need to run it on Display Port, but will it still work if he plugs a display port into each card and then into each montior?

this is probably a really dumb question but i wanna know for sure before telling him it will work and him buying it and then it not working.

Thanks guys biggrin.gif

Should work. But please write a more helpful title - Not only will whiteknights moan at you about it but it gives us no indication about what this thread is actually about (See also; playing the pronoun game with thread titles)

Yeahh thats exactly what i ment!

Thanks!

No sarcasm intended!

That will not work if SLI is enabled, when SLI in enabled you can only have displays connected to the primary card in the SLI configuration. If you don't SLI the two Titans it will be fine however if you want to run SLI you will need to fine an alternate method.

And by SLI Enabled you mean have a bridge right?

Having the bridge isn't the only step but it is necessary to enable SLI, once you have the cards installed and the SLI bridge connected you need to enable this option in the Nvidia control panel.

If you do that both the Titans will work together to render your games however you can only connect displays to the primary card. If you disabled SLI then you can have all of the ports on your GPU's connected to displays but any games will only be rendered by the primary GPU.  I don't know why it's necessary to run both at 60hz, because you need to connect them to a display port and a Titan only has one of them. If the goal is gaming them a single Titan won't be able to provide satisfactory performance on a 4k display thus requiring you to enable SLI with the primary 4k display running at 60Hz and the secondary one connected via one of the other connectors at a lower refresh rate. You can't game on just two monitors so this would be the ideal setup.
