Hey LTT,

    Recently I have been playing the game Arche Age, And I am enjoying it a lot, but i am having bad FPS because my Ram is capping out, I believe that i have enough ram, i have 8G of Ripjaw ddr3, so i was wondering if i just need more ram or if there was a way that i could make it run better.

You do not need more the 8gb of ram for games. Ram doesn't affect your FPS much at all. If you want it to run better upgrade your PC. What are your specs?

(This is something I find funny about younger builders they seem to think ram affects FPS they will ask you how much ram you have and I will say 8 then they will say my PC is going tp run games better because I have 16gb of ram. I saw a kid once who had a PC with a Athlon and a R7 250 and 64GB of ram and he was going around telling people wit i7s and gtx 780s that his PC was better because he had 64gb of ram.)

Well technically, if your RAM caps out because of the game, then the game must be using and needing more RAM... maybe you have other processes in the background or somthing?

Edit: hmm a 770 should be fine, the game shouldn't be using 8 GB though...

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

if you think it's the RAM, you should firstly check your RAM timinigs ( enough power? ) , you could check for failure with memtest, if you got 2 modules - run them seperatly, if you can get hand on other RAM ( friends with similar RAM specs) test your machine with those...

This is an alpha...this is not a beta. Yeah...and we're running it on production ! [LinusTech & SlickPC]   ~    More Power Than All the Computers in 1999! [Our Servers ^^]

@Circut

I just started playing ArcheAge too, I fucking love it!  I am only using 4GB of RAM though, and that is with some other programs in the background.

The fact that you're using a 32bit OS is likely the source of your problem!

nah, in this case the minimum requirements for Arch Age are 2 Gigs of RAM..(although a 64 bit OS is advisable ^^)

666.5MHz on my timings

yeah, i meant by... say for a 'G.Skill RipJaws DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1600'  the  'CL 9-9-9-24' timing...often RAMs need a tiny bit more 'volt-power' to function correctly... the auto detection is not always flawless

It doesn't matter if the requirements are only 2GB of ram, he still only has 4GB so he needs to install a 64 bit OS regardless...

in the matter of the game, it does...but like i wrote in the brackets, to use all of the ram or for better performance futurewise, i recommend your approach...

... Best to start at the simplest thing before going crazy with timings or anything.

my strategy for troubleshooting is the process of elimination; therefore i would check if the RAM is operated correctly by the BIOS...some RAM modules have to be adjusted manually ( but you know that already and i agree again with an aproach for a simple solution ^^)
