  1. What gpu would you go with if you had more headroom in the budget? Thank you for the help!
  2. Budget (including currency): ~ $1500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Primarily gaming, no streaming / rendering. Other details: Upgrading from a GTX 1070 / i5-8400 looking to switch to amd graphics as I am primarily using linux these days and nvidia is a constant pain point. Currently running a 1440p 60hz and a 3440x1440p 90hz but looking to up the monitors to a higher refresh rate 1440p in the future. I don't need anything overkill and looking to primarily hit a good price to performance. I am fine with going over the budget with a hard cap at $1600 but would prefer to go less than the budget, as I said looking primarily for a good deal. Haven't built a computer since 2016 and have been out of the loop for awhile. 3. That looks awesome thanks! Side note: I like the cases like the ghost s1 although too expensive. Are there any other sff pc cases you would recommend? The smaller the better. EDIT: Just saw your case recommendation. Will most gpu's fit in this?
  4. Budget (including currency): $1200 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA games at 2k 60hz, Moderate Development work (Virtualization), no video or image rendering, no streaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): No peripherals needed. Hello, I am planning on giving my computer to my wife and building a sff pc for myself. I can wait on deals and the Budget is a loose requirement. I have never built a sff pc and wanted some help with getting a video card/ cpu cooler/ psu that fits in a nice looking sff pc case. I would like for the new computer to be nicer than my current computer (gtx1070, i5-8400, 32gb ram). Thanks for any help.
  5. Yes it is the same psu from the old system. And thank you for the ideas. Is the difference between the intel and the amd mainly preference?
  6. Hey all, I am planning on upgrading my PC soon and was wanting some recommendations. As far as usage, I use it as a gaming rig for VR. Aside from VR I mainly play non-graphically intensive game sure as World of Warcraft and League of Legends. I don't do video rendering or any workstation type tasks but my ram usually runs at 80% or so. As far as displays go I don't have a need for anything higher than 60fps or 1080p. I assume i should upgrade other parts before i get crazy with monitors. My main question is, should I upgrade ram/Mobo or CPU/Mobo. I could do both but I could get better upgrades splitting it up. As far as budget goes I would be looking for a sub 300$ CPU if my CPU should come next and the same budget for ran/Mobo. If there is something that I am leaving out or upgrades that I didn't consider please let me know. Thanks in advance! I've attached a scrubbed version of a dxdiag dump. Let me know if more info is needed. 7. That should work thanks!
  8. Hello! I have been looking for a fan controller. The only catch is that I need one that isn't 3.5 or 5.5 mountable. The case that I have my computer in has no bays that are accessible from the outside. I was wondering If there were any alternatives. Thanks again!
  9. looking for a budget rack mountable case for a desktop computer. Building a machine for my musician uncle and it would be a great help for him. I have never looked for a rack mountable case, so any help would be appreciated. The current motherboard I have is micro atx. Although that can be changed. Any help would be highly appreciated!
  10. Hello! I am looking for some build help to build an Audio rig that I am putting together. I do not know enough about audio hardware and I was looking for some help. I am trying to model it off of a creation station from sweetwater.com "http://www.sweetwater.com/creation_station/" It would need firewire and a cd burner. I already have a HDD, so a small SSD (under 150gb would be fine) for the os and important programs would be nice. I would like the main cost to focus on ram/cpu power. 8gb of ram should be fine. It would be running Windows XP and would be a nearly all offline machine. I would like it to be a black rack mountable case if possible that takes up 2 or 4u. The video card needs to support 2 monitors preferably using DVI inputs. The video card doesn't need to be powerful, it just needs to get by. For the audio interface, I am using a MIDAS brand Venice F16 analog/firewire mixing board. I already have the audio software that I need. I would also like the motherboard to be able to put a nicer cpu into it in the future if I can. The price rage is from 300-350 USD. Any help would be highly appreciated!
