Yeah no. EVO isn't that much faster (in some respects its actually slower) to be called higher end. Atleast not against mx100

Again EVO is neither more reliable nor much faster to be called higher end.

Its just a more expensive drive, that is getting a bit dated.

+1 Cheap and reliable. I don't think it's worth to invest tons of money for samsung or any other expensive brand, because SSDs are growing fast and in near future they will totally replace HDD for personal computers (well servers with 100TB+ will be hard to be replaced :D ).

This. Crucial is pretty reliable (afterall they are making the NAND in the same fab intel is) and plenty fast for most users.

If you really need lots of IO or sequential speeds you either make yourself a ramdrive or get some of the pci-e solutions. If you really need the speed (not just for bragging rights), added premium will be non-issue.
