Metro last light low fps

Hi,

I just bought metro last light and i get only 3.8 fps according to RivaTuner.

In the little cutscene at the start i get around 30 fps but as soon as i go in te the start menu it drops to around 3.8 fps.

I have tried to lower the resolution to 800x600 and lower al other graphics options but seems to have any effect, I also tried to uncheck the advanced PhysX option but i didn't do anything.

 

My Specs:

• MOBO: MSI z87 g45
• CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k (Not overclocked)
• GPU: MSI GTX 770 2g TwinFrozr OC edition
• RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2 x 4gb 1600MHz
• PSU: Corsair CS 750M 750watt
• OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Any help would be much appreciated!

make sure you have updated it.

that is due to a bug, there should be a answer on google, atleast i found it there in the past

Really? runs lovely for me

 

I can run it on  high/very high at around 60 fps at 1440p

Yes all other games like Skyrim or Bioshock Infinite are running just fine

Make sure you have SSAA set to 1 another issue I get like that sometimes is it's some weird fullscreen window mode issue. Does alt+tab in and out of the game have any effect?

I am assuming you own the game on steam. If yes, it is updated.

 

Other than that you should have the latest drivers, especially GPU drivers.

 

Did you try running it with the absolute minimum settings?

 

Last thing: you can go into The nvidia settings and assign your GPUs to a .exe manually. I say GPUs because your CPU has it's built in iGPU which of course performs terribly in Metro LL. Maybe The wrong GPU is assigned when you start Metro LL

I've looked but all the things I can find say to disable advanced PhysX

yea physx is some of the worst shit ever. TONS of games cant run with it on without dropping 50 fps...

Yep, thorough the nvidia control panel. If that doesn't work I'm out of ideas.

In the Nvidia control panel go to the "Adjust image settings with preview" tab. And set "Let the 3D application decide".

I had the same problem. Try these settings in the video options,

Quality at very high

Turn SSAA off

Texture filtering to af 4x

Tessellation to normal

I have also turned off physx.

I get around 80 fps with these settings.
