This drive will be used for steam and stuff like music, pictures, etc.

Hi again, [member=Angealy]

In this case, I'd recommend WD Green drives due to the fact that they are designed exactly for reliable storage of data .
They are quiet and cool, so you won't be bugged by any HDD noise or concerned by overheating while streaming.
They also consume less power than a standard hard drive due to their IntelliPower feature, which delivers both significant power savings and solid performance.
I suggest you check them out for yourself: http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=780

If you have any further questions let me know!
Hope I helped. :)

Hello there, my name is angealy and my 500GB hard drive recently failed on me causing me to switch over to a 120GB ssd for my os and data.

With that being said, i believe i now need a new data hard drive to hold all of stuff.

I was hoping someone here could suggest some drives for me, as this hard drive will be used in a gaming rig.

Thank you for your time!

Hey there, Angealy!

Sorry to hear about your failed drive.

As you can see, there are a lot of drives out there. The question is what do you use your storage for?

I'd like to backup on what the others said and just briefly explain what the different drives are used for, afterwards you can decide what suits you best.

If you just need an HDD for everyday computing - nothing really extraordinary, then WD Blue is what you are looking for - solid performance and reliability:

If you want to use the HDD as a massive storage and you want your data to be secured, then I suggest to take a look at WD Green drives - they are cool, quiet and reliable:

If you are into gaming and/or working with high-end apps, then what you are looking for is maximum performance for power computing, which can be found in the WD Black drives:

Hope you find this useful.  :)

I hope I can help with any storage issues that you may have!  ;)
