Hi guys,

Im looking into purchasing a voip server so we can start organizing gaming sessions together, so I have a few questions.

Which platform do you like most? (i'm leaning towards mumble)

Would you be willing to use it?

If you could answer the poll so i can get an idea on numbers, currently I was thinking of getting a 50 man server, but we might need more.

Thanks!

I have a TS3 server and it's the program that takes my pick. (I wouldn't mind using it though, I've had a few LTT guys on it while we were playing GW2)

Mumble would probably be the cheapest option though and yeah personally I would be on it all the time almost! :D

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

Ah! is it a personal server? maybe i could just contribute towards it and we can make it some kind of LTT server?

Well I'm using it for a gaming community that I am in the process of creating. It's hosted from the UK so ping may be an issue.

I wouldn't mind donating for a LTT only server though, I feel it would be better so there is no mix up and I'm sure there are many here who would be happy (myself included) to donate monthly for the hosting.

Nice man! Sounds cool to me, i don't mind organizing the server. if people are willing to donate that's a bonus, maybe something we should get a mod member to organise so theres no issues with trust.

Pm me your gaming community site man! ill have a look :)

Im also in the UK, but i dont think ping is such a huge issue nowadays, with internet getting so much faster.

Mumble gets my vote. If you are looking for games to play using said server, TF2 is a great option :)

Mumble is superior to all VOIP's, no delay and best voice quality.

Don't forget the numerous sound card incompatibilities, virtually zero administrator comforts/ features, lack of half the features of TS3 and weird random garbling/ digitization of audio coming from people with packet loss.

Mumble has less delay because it cuts out a vital signal rectifying protocol that the makers of Ventrilo and TS3 see as 'bare minimum'.

And Mumble will never take as much as 5% share until they start catering to admins and not clients. Admins are the ones paying after all. You have to log in to a SuperUser account with no other ways to interact with people on a server but to administrate, if you want to talk you have to relog... It's a trainwreck for god's sake!

Mumble is by far the worst of the three "big", though Mumble isn't exactly big it's still third. The only reason Mumble gained popularity at all is that it's essentially free.

TeamSpeak 3 is my favourite. Has the most features, the cleanest codecs, the most compatibility and the best admin tools. Slightly more confusing for rookies but that's to be expected when you're the one with the most features and that's an acceptable consequence.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.
