Mp3 vs. Mp4

Alright I know for compatibility wise mp3 is better. But what is the true difference between the two? Also which sounds better and which is smaller in size?

Not true....mp4 also has a audio file as well...I have several songs in Mp4 that don't play video.

An MP4 file can contain different audio file formats, as MP4 is just a container. The "real" difference can only be compared with the encoded format, be it MP3, MP2, ALS, etc. 

 

Eh...I'll just keep mp3 then since it will just be used for audio files. Thanks.

audio wise the diffrence is nothing as far as i know lol.

only MP4 can contain video aswell.

mp4 is better because it is 1 higher than 3, it is also half of 8 which is the number of cores in a 8350, which has a 5 in it like the i5, which is in apple products and they are renown for being good music players. so there you have mp4 over mp3 for music.

exactly, there is no substitute for the extra 1.  Except maybe 6, ants are fast and can carry ten times their body weight.  MP6 will be the next big thing, it will be a better container file that has it's own padlock and soft velvet lining to protect the music data.  I even heard rumors it will come with a set of road handles for easy transportation across hdd's.
