Hi guys,

so I was talking to my cousin about CSGO and aiming etc and we were talking about mouse sensitivity and mouse movement.

He uses the entire mousepad to move his mouse in a full motion while I swipe, lift, go back, and swipe again when moving the camera.

His method is more fluid and mine is more choppy. What are your thoughts and "methods" on moving your mouse when gaming?

I dont need 3 paragraph explanations, I just wanna see how you guys aim/play and what the majority does.

im just trying to improve my aim and lowering the sensitivity to 2.14 has helped me a good amount, although Im playing on a laptop and using a different mouse and will have to readjust again when i get home.

I was also thinking about getting a bigger mousepad because im always on the edge of the mousepad, thus me moving my mouse and swiping and lifting back etc.

I saw the Steelseries Dex and liked that, may get the 12x10. currently using the smallest qck. Using that qck and a mionix avior.

I generally use a sensitivity that can do a 360 across the entire length of my mousepad (10in). So when my mouse is in the middle, and I swipe my mouse to the left, I turn right to the back of me. I think it's a perfect compromise between a faster more reactive sensitivity and slower and more accurate one.

i run at 450dpi and 1.6 sense right now, i use my entire mat to turn 180, and lift back up to center after i have moved unless im going back 180" again.

a good messurement is you should be able to turn 180 with a single swipe(this is ruined and fucked if you have mouse acceleration of any sort)

I use a Qck+ and G400, I like around 1100dpi and extremely low in game sensitivity.

It is subjective in my opinion, some pro CSGO players use high dpi/sensitivity and compete with players who use the opposite extreme.

I would say that overall, lower sensitivity and more mouse travel/pixel makes for superior accuracy.

I guess it's also situational as well. In my post when I describe my sensitivity, it's more due to the fact that I play solo and have no one to watch my flank. But had I a proper team I'd take the 180 degree swipe over the entire length to be definitely superior.

I see...so most use the entire mousepad.

I tried to use the entire mousepad but i feel like my arms are stretching out and i just dont like that feeling..Ill probably try that over the weekend and try to get used to it, thanks all.

when I started I was using quite high sensitivity and realized that I cant hit anything precise but slowly lowered my sensitivity and its getting better.

I forgot to mention Im currently not using any mousepad and am using the desktop with this generic microsoft mouse at my cousins house.

Whatever feels comfortable to you, some prefer high sensitivity so they can spin quicker, some prefer low for fine accuracy. I used to use high sensitivity but over the years my body cant keep up anymore so I use a medium sensitivity so I can still be accurate, I think I'm at about 1-1.5" for a 180.

Generally I'll start higher and slowly drop it down till I'm accurate so I can turn as fast as possible and still hit what I want to hit where I want to hit it, though I don't play so competitively any more so I just set it to whatever feels roughly comfortable/similar to what I have in other games and get used to it :P I think it tends to vary based of if you are a wrist or elbow player too.

A 180 degree turn across a qck. There's absolutely no need to go higher than that. When I use to play competitive cs 1.5/1.6, I always played with an in game sensitivity of 1.8 and default windows sensitivity with no accel.

I use a g500 one a warpad. Sit around 1000, 1150 dpi. I use acceleration, so depending how fast I move it will depict how far it will turn like turning around. I primarily use a single shot at all times while gaming in the cod series, hit scan type of player if you will. I've been using the same style of Logitech for years so it's like becoming on with the mouse sort of speak.

Well my naga is sitting @ 1800dpi and usually i use the default sensitivity on w/e fps i play. Like above most of my movement is done in a 2x2 or 2x3 inch square. I could probably be classed as a twitch player; short, sharp wrist movements. I'm quite quick at identifying thing's and have good peripheral vision.

I see, twitch users+high sensitivity and low sensitivity use-the-whole-mousepad players. With the low sensitivity it takes me a while to turn around but that's the learning process. I gotta move my hand super fast lol

I just have my mouse set to 1800dpi and leave it there. I adjust the sensitivity of the game to whatever suits me. For battlefield, I use a quarter of the mousepad to make a full 360 degree turn.
